The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be leaders and innovators in STEM, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, technology, engineering, and mathematical skills that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. Using the FIRST values of Professionalism and Cooperation, the Whitmore Lake Robotics Program's mission is to advance respect and appreciation for engineering within not only the team, but the school, town, and the greater Whitmore Lake community. WLRP is a student-led and student-run team, so that the team can build more than just robots: they can build relationships and communication skills. We are a group of young and aspiring engineers who band together over our unified love of robotics! From school pep assemblies, to fiery competitions, we always bring our passion and dedication wherever we go. WHAT DO WE DO?
In just 6 weeks, we design, build, and program a robot to compete in various annual competitions.
