Who We AreWe are a group of students who love STEAM! The robotics teams at Whitmore are groups of students who come together to share or love of robotics. Many people join whether they have knowledge of the STEAM program or not.
What We DoIn 6 weeks, we design, build, and program a robot to complete specific tasks, which change each year. This year's challenge will begin on January 4, 2020 and is called FIRST RISE: Infinite Recharge! You can watch the teaser video here. And the game video here.
The FIRST MissionThe mission of FIRST® is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
Our Mission Using the FIRST values of Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition, the Whitmore Lake Robotics Program's mission is to advance respect and appreciation for engineering within not only the team, but the school, town, and greater Whitmore Lake community. WLRP is a student-led and student-run team, so that the team can build more than just robots: they can build relationships and communication skills. By pairing the engineering and communication skills of FIRST, WLRP serves to inspire capable, innovative, and team-oriented leaders of tomorrow.
